Markus Höhner

Markus Höhner (born July 19, 1965 in Ulm ) is a German sports commentator .

life and career

After graduating from high school, Höhner trained as an industrial clerk at Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz AG in Cologne and in Atlanta in the United States . He then studied business administration in Cologne ; he completed his studies with a degree in business administration .

During his traineeship at RTLplus in Cologne , Höhner commented on the Bundesliga games for the program Anpfiff . In 1992 he switched to Sat.1 and was a member of the regular commentary team of ran -SAT1-Fußball there until 2003 . Höhner also commented on American football and ice hockey for SAT1. Since 2003 he has been commenting on the first and second Bundesliga matches for DSF , which is now Sport1 . From summer 2009 to 2013 Höhner was a total commentator at LIGA! , the IPTV of Deutsche Telekom AG .

Since summer 2013, Höhner has also been commenting on match reports from the Bundesliga for Bundesliga on BILD . He can also be heard regularly on the Internet radio Sport1.FM in the Bundesliga conference.

Markus Höhner is a Sport1 national team reporter. In this role, he accompanied the DFB team for five and a half weeks as a reporter for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil . He was also on board the LH special flight in 2014, the so-called “Siegerflieger”, with which the national team returned to Berlin on July 15, 2014 as world champions .

From September 2015 Höhner was a commentator for Sport1 on the broadcast of the UEFA Europa League matches . Markus Höhner commented on all 45 live games in three years, including the 2016 finals in Basel , 2017 in Solna and 2018 in Lyon .

Höhner has been commenting regularly on the 3rd league games for MagentaSport, Deutsche Telekom's live sports platform, since 2017. In 2019, Höhner was named by Sport1 as a commentator for the live broadcasts in the DFB Cup .
