Markus Lehmann (born May 27, 1955 in Basel ; resident in Basel and Trimbach ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ) who was active until 2015.

Life

Lehmann was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Basel-Stadt from 1996 to 2005 and has been a member of the Cantonal Parliament of the Canton of Basel-Stadt since February 2009. From February 2011 to January 2012 he was President of the Grand Council. From March 2001 to 2013 he was President of the CVP Basel-Stadt. He was elected to the National Council in the Swiss parliamentary elections in 2011 and was a member of the KVF, Transport and Telecommunications Commission. In the elections in 2015 he was not re-elected. He then withdrew from the public.

The trained insurance salesman and broker is married and has two grown children.
