Martha Ribi-Raschle (born November 28, 1915 in Zurich ; † October 4, 2010 in Uster ) was a Swiss politician of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) .

biography

The daughter of a bank clerk graduated from high school in 1935 and did language stays in Italy and England. She married in 1936. After the untimely death of her husband, she worked from 1945 to 1977 as a secretary for the City Medical Service of the City of Zurich, and from 1964 as an adjunct . At the same time she studied economics at the University of Zurich from 1957 to 1963 and graduated with a degree .

She joined the FDP in 1963 and was also a member of the Swiss Association of Liberal Democratic Women (SVFF). In 1970 she ran unsuccessfully for the Zurich city ​​council . After the introduction of female voices right in the canton of Zurich it was in early 1971 in the constituency Zurich 2 a member of the Cantonal Council of Zurich selected.

In the federal elections on October 31, 1971, she was elected a member of the National Council . She was a member of this as a representative of the FDP for three legislative periods until 1983. Ribi was not only temporarily vice-president of the FDP, but also a recognized specialist in social affairs and health within the Federal Assembly . She also published her views in professional journals. In addition, she was chairwoman of the Association of the Occupational Therapy School in Zurich between 1978 and 1983.
