Behringen Church

The Martin Luther Church is located at Weißen Gasse 22 of the former Grossenbehringen district , now the Behringen district of the Hörselberg-Hainich community in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .

Affiliation

The parish Behringen belongs to the parish Craula to Rectory Behringen in the church district Gotha of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany . Until 2009, the entire church district belonged to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Thuringia .

The hall church was built in 1846 on the old foundation walls of the previous building. It is a plastered stone church with a slate roof . The rectangular chancel has moved in, as well as the church tower in the west, on the top floor of which, where the belfry is hidden, a slightly curved tent roof rises up, which is crowned by a lantern .

The nave has four window axes and two-story galleries . On the east gallery is a pulpit with statues and fittings from the 18th century. On the cover is a crucifix from the 17th century. The baptismal font is from the 16th to 17th centuries Century.

The organ with 25 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built by Friedrich Christian Knauf in 1847.
