Martin Štajnoch (born September 15, 1990 in Bojnice , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Slovan Bratislava from the Slovakian extra league since 2019 .

Career

Martin Štajnoch began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of the MšHK Prievidza , for whose professional team he made his debut in the first division , the second Slovak division, in the 2007/08 season . The defender then moved to HC Slovan Bratislava , for whose professional team he played in the Slovak Extra League from 2008 to 2012 . In his first two years at Slovan, he also played for the Slovak U20 national team , which was a visiting team in the Extraliga. With Slovan Bratislava he won the Slovak championship title in the 2011/12 season .

For the 2012/13 season Slovan Bratislava was included in the Continental Hockey League , in which Štajnoch immediately earned a regular place.

Between 2015 and 2017, Štajnoch played in the Czech Extra League , the first year at HC Dynamo Pardubice and then for a year at Mountfield HK in Hradec Králové . In July 2017 he returned to the KHL when he was signed by HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk . He stayed there only a few months, however, as he moved to the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga for EC Red Bull Salzburg in November of the same year . At the end of the season he won the Austrian championship title with Salzburg as the EBEL runner-up .

International

For Slovakia , Štajnoch took part in the U18 Junior World Championships in 2008 and the U20 Junior World Championships in 2009 and 2010 .
