Martin Bacher (born May 23, 1974 in Zurich ) is a Swiss actor, singer and musical performer .

Life

Youth and training

Martin Bacher was born in Zurich as the son of Bruno and Trudi Bacher and grew up with his brother Thomas in Langnau am Albis , where their parents expanded the nursery founded by grandfather Eduard Bacher into a garden center in the 1980s . He attended from 1989 to 1993, the business school at the Kantonsschule Enge in Zurich, already took time dancing and singing lessons and made her first stage experience in the school theater in the lead role of Jack in The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde , directed by Alfred Pfeiffer. He also founded and directed the show dance group Hothouse Dancers from 1991 to 1994 . Even before he began his musical training at the Stage School Of Music, Dance and Drama in Hamburg in 1995 , he worked in Anatevka in Brig in the role of Fedja under the direction of Stefan Huber . Musical in the garden center - part 1

An engagement in the role of Seymour in Der kleine Horrorladen in Nürnberg gave father Bruno the idea in 2004 to have this musical played in the garden center. Martin Bacher developed a concept and produced the musical about a carnivorous plant for a tour through Swiss greenhouses. The premiere took place on August 30, 2005 in the Bacher garden center in Langnau am Albis. Three other garden centers (Schwitter nursery in Inwil, Meier garden center in Tann-Rüti, and Lägere Plant in Wettingen) participated in the project, so that a total of 33 performances could be played. Bacher again played the Seymour. At his side were Sanni Luis as Audrey, Henning Schwarzhoff as Plant and Kamil Krejčí as Mr. Mushnik. Directed by Peter Niklaus Steiner.

In the following two years the musicals I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change , directed by Benedict Freitag and Lucky Stiff - Dead, but happy! realized under the direction of Björn Bugiel.

Artist life - part 2

Parallel to his work as a producer of musicals in the garden center , Bacher appeared on stage in 2006 and 2007 in Vienna in Mozart goes Broadway as Mozart and at the Basel Theater in On The Town in the role of Gabey. In 2008 he was part of the original cast in In Nomine Patris at the Deutsches Theater Munich and in 2009 played in the European premiere of Marie Antoinette by Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay at the Musical Theater Bremen . After a three-year break, Bacher resumed his musical concept in the garden center in 2011 and is now producing several operettas and musicals in collaboration with the Quickchange Company under the direction of Björn B. Bugiel.

Artist life - part 3

With the birth of his son Jamie Lian in 2012, a new phase of life began. Martin Bacher decided to only accept engagements in Switzerland from now on and worked in the open-air theater Lueg in Der Schwarze Hecht , in Bern in the musical Dällebach Kari and in the Zurich Bernhardtheater with Z for Züri . He was also a permanent member of the Quickchange Company, which has been organizing the operetta summer in Zug in the last weeks of August since 2013, where pieces such as Im Weissen Rössl , Der Schwarze Hecht , Die Drei von der Gasstelle and Der Zauberer von Oz are played. In 2015 and 2016 he took part in the world premiere of the musical Io Senza Te with the music of Peter, Sue and Marc in the role of Max, as an understudy in the roles of Jean-Rémy and Paul at Theater 11 in Zurich. At the Stadttheater Sursee he was on stage in the role of Franz Kilian in the operetta Mask in Blue .

Bacher has lived in Zurich since 2010 and, in addition to his activities as an actor and producer, teaches tap dance , song interpretation and meditation for actors at the Stage Art Musical & Theater School in Adliswil .
