Martin Carl Wilhelm von Wölckern
Knight and noble Martin Carl Wilhelm von Wölckern (* February 14, 1755 ; † March 16, 1832 ) was an imperial city or royal Bavarian administrative lawyer for Nuremberg and a genealogical - heraldic author , as well as a landlord on Kalchreuth .
Life
origin
Martin Carl Wilhelm von Wölckern came from a Frankish line that was formerly in the prince-bishop's court service in Bamberg and became Protestant in the 16th century, allegedly from the noble Austrian family von Wolckersdorf , later called Wölcker. This received an imperial recognition of nobility in 1728 and in 1730 was admitted to the court of Nuremberg. His grandfather Lazarus Carl was the foremost councilor in Nuremberg , his uncle of the same name (* 1727) had been Reichshofrat since 1779 and his father Carl Wilhelm (* 1728) had been a nurse at Altdorf near Nuremberg from 1768 . The mother Sophia Maria († 1773) came from a baronial line of the Nuremberg patrician family Tucher , the stepmother (since 1774) Maria Elisabetha Wilhelmina of the Nuremberg patrician family Furtenbach.
Family and work
In 1785 Martin married Carl Wilhelm Anna Luzia (* 1753), daughter of Baron Georg Wilhelm von Löffelholz , with whom he had two daughters (1787 and 1790). In 1788 the von Wölckern family, whose eldest Martin Carl Wilhelm was after their father, who died in 1805, and their uncle, who also died in 1805, were accepted with imperial confirmation among the advisable families of Nuremberg, so they also belonged to the patriciate .

In 1792 Martin Carl Wilhelm was a member of the Nuremberg Crown Embassy to Frankfurt am Main , where he received the knighthood from Emperor Franz II . Therefore, he was later enrolled in the newly created Kingdom of Bavaria, unlike the entire family in the knight class . In 1795 he became the caretaker of the Landalmosenamt. In 1799 the Selekt of the Nuremberg patriciate was founded. Martin Carl Wilhelm von Wölckern was one of the first representatives of this patrician interest group. After the former imperial city of Nuremberg was incorporated into the Kingdom of Bavaria, Wölckern's office of caretaker of the Landalmosenamt was transferred to that of a royal Bavarian district - foundation administrator , which he held until his retirement (before 1818).
Wölckern was also a member of the Historical Society of the Rezat Circle . His work on the coats of arms of the then flourishing noble families in the Kingdom of Bavaria should be emphasized .
The Württemberg infantry general Wilhelm von Woelckern was his great-nephew. With this, the male line died out in 1905.
