Martina Alzini (born February 10, 1997 in Parabiago ) is an Italian cyclist who is active on track and road . On the train she is a specialist in the team pursuit .

Athletic career

Martina Alzini comes from a cycling family: both her mother and father were active cyclists; her father competed in competitions with Giuseppe Saronni , who also lived in Parabiago. At the age of three she was already riding a bike without training wheels .

In 2014, Alzini won her first international medals when she won silver in team pursuit and omnium at the Junior World Championships . The following year she won bronze in the Omnium at the Junior World Championships and finished fifth in the U23 road race at the European Road Championships. Up to and including 2018, she won further medals at the U23 European Championships on the track.

From 2019 Martina Alzini started in the elite. With Elisa Balsamo , Marta Cavalli and Letizia Paternoster , she won the team pursuit at the 2019 World Cup in Hong Kong and, together with these drivers, won gold at the 2019 European Games .
