Elisa Balsamo ([eˈli: sa ˈbalsamo] - * February 27, 1998 in Cuneo ) is an Italian cyclist who is active and successful on the track as well as on the road .

Athletic career

At the UCI Track World Championships for Juniors , Balsamo won a total of three times the title holder: 2015 in the scratch and 2016 in the omnium as well as in the team pursuit . At the 2016 UCI Road World Championships , Balsamo won the junior road race title in the mass sprint. Less than a week later, she started at the UEC European Rail Championships in 2016 , where she won the gold medal in the team pursuit with the Italian team and thus her first international championship in the elite area.

In 2017, Balsamo achieved further successes on the track: At the U23 European Railway Championships she won gold in the team pursuit with the Italian four-man ( Martina Alzini , Marta Cavalli and Francesca Pattaro ) and bronze in the two-man team driving with Rachele Barbieri . In Berlin she was again European champion of the elite in the team pursuit, together with Tatiana Guderzo , Letizia Paternoster and Silvia Valsecchi , in the Omnium she was third.
