Martina Weber (* 1966 in Mannheim ) is a German poet , non-fiction author and lawyer .

life and work

Martina Weber studied German , history and philosophy in Heidelberg , Freiburg im Breisgau and Frankfurt am Main and later law . She completed her law studies in 1998 with the second state examination in Frankfurt. This was followed by postgraduate studies in journalism in Mainz .

Martina Weber wrote several legal textbooks, mostly on her field of labor and health law. In addition, she made contributions to the standard works of basic legal courses on the subject of labor and family law . She also writes lyric texts and has also published a guide for poets, which has already appeared in three editions. In addition to her own writing, she is also involved in imparting relevant skills. From 2001 to 2003 she was in the editorial department of the magazine Federwelt and is an employee of the Center for Young Literature in Darmstadt founded by Kurt Drawert .

Martina Weber's poems have been published in various anthologies ( Jahrbuch der Lyrik , Der deutsche Lyrikkalender ) and literary magazines (e.g. Sinn und Form , besides , Macondo , poet). Her lyrical debut volume Memories of a Raw Material was published in 2013 by Poetenladenverlag . In 2020 her book of poetry houses, made entirely of light, was on the shortlist for the Clemens Brentano Prize .

In addition to literature, she is also interested in music and is a co-author on the blog Manafonistas - on music beyond mainstream .

Martina Weber lives and writes in Frankfurt am Main.
