The German poetry calendar. Each day a poem is the title of an anthology edited annually by Shafiq Naz for poems from the beginnings to the present in the German- speaking world .

history

Shafiq Naz, who runs the poetry publisher Alhambra Publishing in Bertem , edited the first edition of Der deutsche Lyrikkalender in 2004 with 365 poems by 190 authors, the number of which increased from edition to edition to 300, including poems by around 150 contemporary poets. Two calendars were published for the first time in 2012: The German Poetry Calendar 2012 and The German Poetry Calendar for Young Readers 2012 . At the end of 2012, the last edition, Der deutsche Lyrikkalender 2013, appeared for the time being.

Conception

The more than 400-page table calendar with ring binding aims to convey the spectrum of the entire range of poetry in the German-speaking world from its beginnings to the present (and also to highlight niches that have received less attention over time), and to provide a differentiated overview about the current poetry production with its manifold possibilities of expression and form: In the meantime, the German poetry calendar, edited so lovingly and knowledgeably in dialogue by Shafiq Naz, has developed. Every day a poem is established next to the yearbook of poetry and verses as the third annual poetry collection volume.
