Martinez is a census-designated place (CDP) in Columbia County in the US state of Georgia with 35,795 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Martinez is bordered by Evans to the west and the city of Augusta ( Richmond County ) to the southeast . The nearest airport is Augusta Regional Airport (around 20 km south). Interstate 20 and Georgia State Routes 28 , 104 , 232 and 383 cross or touch the CDP .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 35,795 inhabitants were distributed among 13,587 inhabited households, which results in an average of 2.63 people per household. There are a total of 14,486 households.

74.6% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring) with an average size of 3.05 persons. There were children under the age of 18 in 38.5% of all households and persons aged 65 and over in 21.3% of all households.

28.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 25.0% were 20 to 39 years old, 29.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 17.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 37 years. 48.2% of the population were male and 51.8% were female.
