Matija Miličić (born February 13, 1996 in Zagreb ) is a Croatian ice hockey player who has been playing in Austrian youth leagues at KHL Medveščak Zagreb since 2012 and in the men's division since 2015.

Career

Matija Miličić began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown at KHL Zagreb , for whose first team he played in the Croatian ice hockey league from 2012 to 2015 . Since 2012 he has also been playing for its city neighbor KHL Medveščak Zagreb , which uses him in its youth teams that take part in matches in Austria. He has played exclusively for Medveščak since 2015 and made his first appearances in the first men's team in the Continental Hockey League and the second men's team in the Slovenian Ice Hockey League and, since 2017, in the International Hockey League . In 2016, 2017 and 2018 he became Croatian champion with Medveščak .

During the 2018/19 season he also played a few games for the club in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga .

International

For Croatia, Miličić took part in the division II tournaments of the U18 World Championships in 2012 , 2013 and 2014 as well as the U20 World Championships in 2013 in Division I and in 2014 , 2015 and 2016 in Division II. At the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck , he finished sixth in the Skills Challenge . In the hardest shot partial competition , he achieved second place behind the Latvian Augusts Valdis Vasiļonoks .

In the senior division, he made his debut for the Croatian national team at the 2015 World Cup in Division I, in which he also played in 2016 , 2017 and 2018 . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .
