Matt Higgins (born October 29, 1977 in Calgary , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who is currently under contract with HDD Olimpija Ljubljana in the Austrian ice hockey league .

Career

Matt Higgins' junior career began in 1993 with the Moose Jaw Warriors in the WHL . After that was Center at NHL Entry Draft in 1996 in the first round by the Montreal Canadiens selected him as their first farm team , the Fredericton Canadiens in the American Hockey League sent. From 1997 to the 2000/01 season , Higgins finally had 57 chances to play for the Canadiens in the NHL.

For the 2003/04 season , the left shooter was committed by the Iserlohn Roosters from the German Ice Hockey League . Due to three injuries, the Canadian could only complete 25 games in the 2004/05 season , in which he collected 23 points scorer. When the doctors found the complete healing in the summer, the Sauerland extended the contract. After a period of weakness at the beginning of the 2005/06 season , Higgins was one of the club's most important strikers again around the middle of the season. After three years at the Seilersee, the Canadian moved to ERC Ingolstadt for the 2006/07 season . For the 2009/10 season he moved to the Slovenian club HDD Olimpija Ljubljana in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga .
