Matteo Montaguti (born January 6, 1984 in Forlì ) is an Italian racing cyclist .

Career

Matteo Montaguti won the bronze medal in the U23 points race at the UEC European Rail Championships in 2003 in Valencia . The following year he was able to repeat this success at Madison . In 2005 he was Italian championship points race in San Vincenzo and in 2007 he won the team pursuit title.

In the 2007 season Montaguti was also Italian road racing champion in the elite class without a professional contract and at the end of the season drove as a stagiaire with the Professional Continental Team 3C Casalinghi Jet-Androni Giocattoli . In 2008 he received his first regular contract with a UCI team at Team LPR .

Montaguti's first victories in an international cycling race came for him at the Giro della Provincia di Reggio Calabria , where he won a stage and the overall standings. At the Tour de Suisse 2012 he won the mountain classification . He won a stage at the Tour of the Alps 2017 .
