Matthias Bollwerk (born November 9, 1986 in Essen ) is a German director , actor and author .

Career

At the age of 11 he was already on stage with the children's choir of the Aalto Theater in Essen. This was followed by smaller engagements and roles at the Aalto Theater and with other regional theater groups. From 2012 he was part of the cast of productions of the musicals Les Misérables and Jesus Christ Superstar at the Lüneburg Theater . After graduating from high school, Bollwerk worked for a while at the Lüneburg radio station ZuSa as an editor and presenter.

In summer 2007, he began his studies at the University of Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden in professional singing ( jazz / rock / pop ). Two years later he played "Ernst" in the US musical Spring Awakening for VBW in Vienna's Ronacher , before taking on the leading role as " Buddy Holly " in the musical of the same name by Stage Entertainment at the Colosseum Theater Essen, together with Dominik Hees . It was there that the song Weltmeister with Dominik Schwarzer was written , for which he was responsible for production and direction. From June to August 2011 he took on the role of John in the world premiere of Die Päpstin - Das Musical . His last engagement at a musical stage was the role of "Neil" in the play " Dirty Dancing - The Original Live on Stage " at the Metronom Theater Oberhausen .

While working as an actor on various stages, he began working as a director and filmmaker. Several music videos, a web series, image, promotional films and online commercials followed. At the same time he was still working as an actor, but now more in front of the camera than on the stage. He made his TV debut in an episode lead role on " Stubbe - von Fall zu Fall ".
