Matthias Hamann (born February 10, 1968 in Waldsassen ) is a former German soccer player and current soccer coach .

Career

player

Born in Waldsassen, grew up in Konnersreuth and - due to his father's job - came to Munich in 1976, he played in the youth department from 1977 to 1986 and until 1988 in the men's team of the Bayern league club FC Wacker Munich , with whom he joined the Bayern League in 1987 , then third division, was promoted. Then he moved within the Bayern League to the amateurs of FC Bayern Munich , in 1988/89 to the professionals. However, in contrast to his younger brother Dietmar in later years, he did not appear in the Bundesliga , but once in the DFB Cup competition.
