Matthias Jaeger

Matthias Jaeger (born November 22, 1937 in Leipzig ) is a German doctor and, as a medical officer with the rank of general staff doctor, was most recently deputy to the inspector of the medical service .

education

After graduating from the Richard Wagner High School in Leipzig in 1955, Jaeger left what was then the German Democratic Republic and took his Abitur again in the Federal Republic of Germany. He studied at the Georg-August University of Göttingen and the Philipps University of Marburg , passed the state examination in 1963 and received his license to practice medicine in 1965. This was followed by work as an assistant doctor in the surgical department in the Siegen-Weidenau municipal hospital before he was called up in February 1967 to the rank of medical officer .

Military career

After the basic training, he was employed as a troop doctor with the 152nd Panzer Grenadier Battalion in Westerburg . In this use, the takeover as a professional soldier took place. In 1969 Jaeger became chief of the 2nd company and deputy of the battalion commander of the 5 medical battalion in Rennerod , and in October 1971 he became the commander himself.

In 1974, the transfer was made in the inspection of the medical and health care (Insan) of the Ministry of Defense (MoD) to the post as a consultant for basic issues of organization Insan II 2, 1979, the use in the medical office of the German armed forces as head of G 3 in the rank of Colonel in the Medical and Chief Medical officer of the Central Medical Services of the Bundeswehr (ZSanDBw). From October 1981 he was Head of Division InSan II 2 in the BMVg and Head of Division InSan II 5 from May 1983. When he was employed as Deputy Head of Office in the Bundeswehr Medical Office, from October 1987 he was promoted to General Doctor and was transferred to the post of Deputy Inspector of the medical and health services in October 1989 promotion to general staff doctor. The retirement took place on June 30, 1993.

He is married, has two children and lives in Meckenheim .
