Matthias von Oppen (lawyer)

Matthias von Oppen (born August 30, 1873 in Breslau , † March 30, 1924 in Allenstein ) was a Prussian administrative lawyer .

Life

origin

His parents were Lieutenant General Karl von Oppen (April 2, 1824 - May 9, 1895) and his second wife, Countess Gabriele Marie von Itzenplitz (July 18, 1839 - September 21, 1901).

Career

Oppen studied law at the Georg-August University . In 1892 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Göttingen .

After the first exam he was a court trainee (1895) and government trainee (1897) in Opole . From 1900 he worked as a government assessor in Poznan . In 1904 he became district administrator of the Samter district .

In 1909 he became a go. Appointed government councilor and lecturer council in the Reich Chancellery . During the First World War , Oppen served as police chief in Łódź in 1915 and as director in the war food office in 1916 . From 1917 to 1924 he was the district president in the Olsztyn administrative district . On August 16, 1920 he took over the Allenstein voting area from the Inter-Allied Commission . With Ernst Bolck, he temporarily held the post of district president in the Koenigsberg district . From 1921 he represented Allenstein and the DVP in the provincial parliament of the province of East Prussia . After his death, Max Lion moved up.

family

Oppen married Asta von Roeder on July 23, 1903 in Ober-Ellguth (* July 21, 1882). The couple had several children:

  • Konrad Karl Matthias Heinrich Albrecht (born April 23, 1904 - April 30, 1987), German politician (CDU)
  • Christian Günther Matthias Hans Joachim (born August 9, 1906)
  • Robert Matthias Georg Julius Wilhelm (born October 6, 1910)
  • Bertha Luise Asta Martha Elisabeth (born May 8, 1914)
