Mauricio Alberto Ardila Cano (born May 21, 1979 in Yarumal ) is a Colombian cyclist .

Ardila received his first contract with an international cycling team at Marlux-Ville de Charleroi . He won stages of the Tour de l'Avenir , the Tour of Sweden and the Tour of Britain for this team . In 2005 the Colombian switched to the UCI ProTeam Davitamon-Lotto and won a stage in the Lower Saxony Tour and the mountain classification . He also finished eighth in the Vuelta a España in 2005 . From 2006 to 2010 he drove for the ProTeam Rabobank and 2011 for the ProTeam Geox-TMC ; then for smaller teams. From 2004 to 2011 he took part in the Giro d'Italia eight times in a row , with 15th place in 2010 being his best result in the overall ranking of this tour .

In the course of the doping investigation by the Public Prosecutor of Padua at the end of 2014, he was suspected of having been a customer of the controversial sports medicine specialist Michele Ferrari .

Mauricio Ardila is a cousin of cyclist Alex Cano .
