Max Norman

Max Norman is a British music producer and sound engineer who is best known for his work in metal and hard rock .

Career

Norman was best known for his work on Ozzy Osbourne's solo debut Blizzard of Ozz . Here he was initially only scheduled as a sound engineer, but after a week he replaced the producer Chris Tsangarides , with whom Osbourne was dissatisfied. Norman also produced the next four albums Osbournes. In 1982 he worked for Y&T and produced their album Black Tiger . In the early 1990s he worked for Megadeth and, after mixing with Rust in Peace , recorded Countdown to Extinction in 1992 and Youthanasia in 1994 . That's why he can also be seen in the home video Evolver , a making-of of Youthanasia .

Norman was also active for the melodycore band Strung Out and the new wave band Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark . He also worked as a live mixer for bands like Uriah Heep and Motörhead . In the meantime he is no longer active in the music sector, but works in the computer industry.
