Maximilian Raitz from Frentz
Jacobus- Maximilian Edmund Joseph Hubert Maria Freiherr Raitz von Frentz (born July 7, 1885 in Koblenz , † August 21, 1967 in Niederspay ) was a German lawyer and politician ( German Center Party ).

Raitz von Frentz came from the old Cologne noble family Raitz von Frentz . His parents were Lieutenant General Freiherr Joseph August Raitz von Frentz (1858–1922) and Johanna geb. Noble von Solemacher (1863–1936). His brothers were the journalist Edmund Raitz von Frentz (1887–1964) and the association director Dr. rer. pole. Josef Raitz from Frentz.
Life
After graduating from high school in the spring of 1904, he began studying law at the Université de Lausanne in Switzerland that same year and continued this at the universities of Freiburg im Breisgau , Berlin and Bonn . During his studies in Lausanne, he became a member of the Germania Lausanne student association . In 1907 he put his state examination and was after his dissertation, entitled "Emergency assistance and its civil effects of the Civil Code for the German Reich." Was written in 1908 at the University of Rostock Dr. jur. PhD. From 1907 he then worked as a trainee lawyer at the Cologne Higher Regional Court and u. a. employed in Waldbröl, Cologne and Bonn.
In 1912 he passed the assessor exam in Berlin. He then worked as a judicial assessor at the Cologne Higher Regional Court , at the Andernach District Court and from 1915 as a legal advisor to the government in Cologne , later as a government assessor . From 1917 to 1919 he was a member of the district committee of the Cologne city government. In October 1919 he was entrusted with the provisional administration of the district office in Lippstadt , and in October 1920 he was appointed district administrator of the Lippstadt district (Westphalia). He held this office for 13 years from 1920 to 1933. In addition, he was also elected member of the Westphalian parliament, to which he belonged as a member of the German Center Party for 12 years from 1921 to 1933. From 1932 to 1933 he was a deputy member of the Prussian State Council .
During this time he married his wife Maria geb. von Kesseler at Morenhoven Castle near Rheinbach . The couple have three sons and one daughter.
After the Nazi takeover and the dissolution of the Prussian State Council, he was deposed as district administrator in 1933 and lost all his political offices and mandates because he refused to join the NSDAP. He was then transferred to the government in Düsseldorf , where he was employed as a government councilor in Department I. In 1943 he was transferred from the district government in Düsseldorf to the district government of Koblenz , where he was temporarily employed by the Moselland regional nutrition office.
On April 3, 1945 he was appointed by the US military government as a district administrator for the district of Koblenz . In May 1947, Raitz von Frentz was presumably personally suspended by the French military governor Claude Hettier de Boislambert for alleged "incompetence on duty". In the autumn of 1947 he was reinstated as a state administrative judge at the state administrative court of Rhineland-Palatinate.
In 1950 he was appointed President of the Senate of the Higher Administrative Court and the Constitutional Court of Rhineland-Palatinate . On August 1, 1950, Raitz von Frentz retired.
He was a magistral knight of the sovereign Order of Malta .
