Maya Hawke , also Maya Ray Thurman-Hawke or Maya Thurman Hawke , (born July 8, 1998 in New York City ) is an American actress and model .

Life

Maya Hawke was born to the actor couple Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke . The two had met on the set of Gattaca in 1997 and married in May 1998. Maya's brother was born in 2002 and the marriage ended in divorce in July 2004. Maya Hawke worked as a model for the British fashion retailer All Saints , among others , and shot for Calvin Klein with Sofia Coppola , photos appeared in Vogue , for example .

She began an education at the Juilliard School , which she dropped out after a year in favor of filming the BBC adaptation of Little Women . In this mini-series she played the role of Jo March. Kathryn Newton , Willa Fitzgerald and Annes Elwy played their film sisters Amy, Meg and Beth.

In Amanda Kramer's (2018) Lord of the Flies- inspired thriller Ladyworld she starred as Romy alongside Ariela Barer and Ryan Simpkins .

2019 she played in the 72nd Cannes Film Festival premiered crime drama Once Upon a Time in Hollywood by Quentin Tarantino , the role of Linda Kasabian . Maya Hawke has played the role of the lesbian Robin Buckley since the third season of the Netflix series Stranger Things . In 2019 she directed the romance mainstream starring Andrew Garfield , Nat Wolff and Jason Schwartzman, directed by Gia Coppola . In a short film by Aïda Ruilova , she embodies the cult and scandal author Kathy Acker .

For the film Human Capital , she stood in front of the camera with Liev Schreiber and Marisa Tomei in 2018/19 .

In August 2019 she released the songs To Love A Boy and Stay Open , for which she also wrote the lyrics. In April 2020 she released the single Coverage , she recorded the video for it with her siblings, and her father acted as director and cameraman.
