Maybe Baby is a British film comedy of Ben Elton from the year 2000 . Ben Elton wrote the screenplay based on his own novel " Inconceivable ".
action
The couple Lucy and Sam Bell want to have a child. Numerous attempts fail, the doctors are unable to help the couple, and the magical rituals of their friend Druscilla also prove to be ineffective.
Sam is increasingly dissatisfied with his job as an editor at the BBC . His friend Druscilla gives him the idea of writing a comedy about a childless couple. The final impulse comes from his boss when Sam rejects what he thinks is a moronic script. The boss insults him and mockingly asks him about his own scripts.
Lucy doesn't like the idea of the script. She forbids her husband to realize it. Sam still writes the script, using sentences and formulations that he finds in his wife's diary, which he has secretly read along with.
When Lucy visits the hospital where the filming is taking place, she recognizes some of the phrases. She leaves her husband and has an affair with the main actor in the film. The film will be successful.
In the end, Lucy and Sam are back together. Sam tries hard to get his wife pregnant.
