Meir ( Norwegian 'more') is the second studio album by the Norwegian rock band Kvelertak . It was published on 25 March 2013 in Sony Music Scandinavia in Scandinavia , at Roadrunner Records worldwide and at Indie Recordings on record .

Origin and style

The style of the album was outlined as " Turbonegro meets Black Metal ". It was produced by Converge like its predecessor by Kurt Ballou . It was recorded at GodCity Studios in Salem , Massachusetts in mid-2012 . The cover illustration is by John Dyer Baizley from Baroness . Three music videos have been released, for Bruane Brenn , Manelyst and the song Kvelertak .

reception

In the magazine Rock Hard was Meir album of the month. Boris Kaiser wrote that the band should not be blamed for not reinventing themselves with the album, "because they are still undoubtedly in the 'Hello, here we are!' Phase of their career." He awarded eight of ten points. In Metal Hammer Petra awarded Schurer six of seven points. She wrote that Kvelertak “took the tried and tested and expanded it with great care and attention to detail. (...) More Thin Lizzy , less Turbonegro, you could put it in a nutshell. ”The album was awarded the Spellemann Prize in the Metal category.
