The Merrebach is a left-hand or western tributary of the Olmes , which runs completely in the area of the Schwalm-Eder district ( Hesse , Germany ).

The Merrebach rises south of Dorheim in the municipality of Neuental . The source is about 235 meters above sea level . It flows around Dorheim initially in a slightly southward direction and then swings in a northeasterly direction after approx. 200 m. The Merrebach maintains this direction for the next 600 meters in order to swivel almost at right angles in a north-westerly direction. After another 300 meters, the Merrebach swings in a northerly direction. After another 1.5 kilometers, the Merrebach swings in a north-easterly direction. Here, the Merrebach flows past three kilometers southeast of Zimmerrode . For the next two kilometers, the Merrebach continues to flow towards the northeast and meets Haarhausen , a district of Borken . After almost a kilometer, the Merrebach flows into the Olmes.
