Merresor was a Swedish railway company . The People travel group and SJ each held half as shareholders.

From June 13, 2004 to December 11, 2010, the company was responsible for train traffic for the companies Värmlandstabor and Krösatågen in Värmland and Småland . It took over regional traffic in Värmland, drove intercity trains between Karlstad and Gothenburg on behalf of SJ (including the train crew) and local traffic on individual sections of the route in Bergslagen .

The head office was next to the train station in Karlstad. There were about fifty employees, including 30 drivers. In 2004 the company drove 1.2 million train kilometers . The traffic was carried out on the following routes:

  • Charlottenberg – Arvika – Karlstad – Laxå
  • Karlstad – Sunne – Torsby
  • Kristinehamn – Borlänge.

Stood on vehicles Merresor 14 diesel railcars of the series Y1 and three EMUs Series X53 ( Bombardier Regina ) are available. The company ran its first trains on June 13, 2004 during the inauguration of the new main train station in Karlstad.

In December 2004, the Company was the first Swedish railway companies with passenger ISO 9001: 2000 and ISO 14001 certified .

On May 28, 2005, the company took over as the successor to BK Tåg trains on behalf of Sverige AB Krösatågen in Småland. The shareholders of Krösatågen are the regional transport companies Jönköpings länstrafik , Länstrafik i Kronoberg , Hallandstrafik and Rikstrafik . The transport network served covered around 600 kilometers in Jönköpings län . In addition, now were Itino railcars of type Y31 and Y32 used.

merresor operated the following routes on behalf of Krösatågen :

In 2006 about 170 people were employed at merresor , including 90 train drivers and 60 train attendants. The annual turnover was around SEK 160 million . The annual report covered 3.8 million train kilometers and around 1.5 million travelers. 16 diesel multiple units Y1, 13 diesel multiple units Y31 / Y32 and five electric multiple units X53 were available.

From January 8, 2007 merresor went to Oslo in Norway . SJ, Värmlandstrafik and Norges Statsbaner previously decided to increase the frequency of cross-border traffic and ordered two pairs of trains per day with electric multiple units of the X53 series on the Oslo – Karlstad route.

The company had not submitted any offers for train services since 2007. The routes operated in Värmland were taken over by Tågkompaniet in 2009 . When the contract with Krösatågen expired on December 11, 2010, the company ceased its activities, these transport services were taken over by DSB .

According to the Swedish company directory allabolag , the bankruptcy proceedings were closed on December 21, 2012.
