Merz ( Lower Sorbian Měrc ) is an inhabited part of the municipality Ragow-Merz of the office Schlaubetal in the Oder-Spree district in Brandenburg .
geography
The place is three kilometers east of Ragow and seven kilometers southwest of Müllrose . The neighboring towns are Försterei Ragow in the north, Müllrose in the northeast, Mixdorf in the east, Grunow in the southeast, Schneeberg and Oegeln in the southwest, Ragow in the west and Radinkendorf in the northwest.
history
On July 25, 1952, the Merz community became part of the new Beeskow district . Since June 23, 1992 the place has been administered by the Office Schlaubetal and since December 6, 1993 it has been part of the Oder-Spree district.
On June 1, 2002, the previously independent municipalities of Merz and Ragow merged to form the new municipality of Ragow-Merz.

Culture and sights
- The village church of Merz is a late Gothic stone church . Inside there is a late Baroque pulpit altar with a pulpit from the first half of the 17th century.
