Meskerem Assefa

Meskerem Assefa Legesse Wondimagegn (born September 20, 1985 in Robe ) is an Ethiopian middle-distance and long-distance runner .

So far, she has taken part twice in the 1,500-meter run at the Summer Olympics, but was eliminated each time in the preliminary run. At the 2008 Games in Beijing she came in 10th place with 4: 10.04 and in 2012 in London she landed on 9th place after 4: 15.52 minutes.

In 2011 she took part in the World Athletics Championships in Daegu , but was eliminated in the preliminary run.

On October 11, 2015, she ran the Chicago Marathon , for which it took 2:25:11 h and finished in 6th place. She achieved her personal best of 2:24:18 h in April 2017 in Rotterdam . In October 2017 she was third in the Frankfurt Marathon in strong winds.

In 2018, she won the Nagoya Marathon in 2:21:45 h and the Frankfurt Marathon in the course record time of 2:20:36 h.
