Methoxyfenozide is a chemical compound from the group of diacylhydrazines . Methoxyfenozid acts as ecdysone - agonist that triggers premature molting of insects. The effect is highly selective against butterflies ; The insecticide is used against pests such as the codling moth , the single and crossed grape moth , the European corn borer or the chestnut leaf miner .

Admission

Methoxyfenozide was approved for use as an insecticide in the European Union with effect from April 1, 2005. Methoxyfenozide has not been approved in Germany since December 31, 2015, but with a use-by period until June 30, 2017. In Switzerland, it is contained in approved plant protection products.
