The metropolitan area of ​​Dalton (English: Dalton metropolitan area ) is a metropolitan area in the northwest of the US state Georgia . It represents a Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) defined by the Office of Management and Budget and includes the counties Murray and Whitfield . The city of Dalton represents the center of the urban agglomeration .

At the time of the 2010 census , the area had 142,227 residents.
