The metropolitan area of Macon (ger .: Macon metropolitan area ) is a metropolitan area in the center of the US state of Georgia . It represents a Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) defined by the Office of Management and Budget and includes the Counties Bibb , Crawford , Jones , Monroe and Twiggs . The center of the agglomeration is the city of Macon .

At the time of the 2010 census , the area had 232,293 residents.
