The metropolitan area Valdosta (English: Valdosta metropolitan area ) is a metropolitan area in the south of the US state Georgia . It represents a Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) defined by the Office of Management and Budget and includes the Counties Brooks , Echols , Lanier and Lowndes . The center of the agglomeration is the city of Valdosta .

At the time of the 2010 census , the area had 139,588 residents.
