Metting is a district of the Leiblfing community in the Straubing-Bogen district in Lower Bavaria . Until 1978 it formed an independent municipality.

location

Metting is located about three kilometers northwest of Leiblfing on the Hausmettinger Bach in the Danube-Isar hill country .

history

Metting is mentioned as early as 1463 together with Aiterhofen as lying in the Leonsberg court . At the beginning of the 17th century, the lords of the court were in need, in 1633 it was Hans Christoph von Lerchenfeld on Aiterhofen and Metting. In 1646 the mayor of Straubing , Simon Höller, bought the Hofmarksgut. Ferdinand Törring zu Seefeld bought the two court brands from Simon Höller in 1669 and had the sovereign declare them to be right court brands in the court chamber message of December 29, 1670. Until the formation of the community at the beginning of the 19th century, the court brands remained in the hands of Törring-Seefeld .

After the Leonsberg Regional Court was dissolved in 1803, Metting came to the Straubing Regional Court. In 1808 the tax district Metting was formed, in 1818 the municipality Metting. Already in 1821 the parts of the municipality Eschlbach , Hausmetting and Klöpfach were separated in favor of the newly formed municipality Eschlbach. The aim was to avoid mixing it up with reasons directly related to the regional court, because at that time Metting still belonged to the Barons of Hallberg zu Aiterhofen and was subject to their second class patrimonial court, approved in 1822 . The patrimonial court was dissolved before 1848, and Metting was now subordinate to the Straubing Regional Court.

In 1952, apart from Metting itself, the districts of Haid, Kornbach and Kriegstadl also belonged to the community. In 1978, the municipality of Metting, which belonged to the Straubing district , was incorporated into the Leiblfing municipality as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . In 1987 Metting had 162 inhabitants.
