history
A clear differentiation of the earliest mentions of sunzing between Ober- and Niedersunzing is not possible. Sunzing is a real -ing place and means "with Sunzo and his people". Sunzing goes back to the time of the conquest by the Bavarians between 450 and 650 AD. The first mention of Sunzing can be found in a document that was written around 1118. Eberhard von Sunzingen bequeathed a farm there to the Oberalteich monastery .
In the re-formation of the Regional Courts on August 11, 1803 Sinzing (Obersunzing) from the District Court Landau an der Isar the District Court Straubing allocated. The municipality of Obersunzing emerged from the Sunzing tax district formed in 1808/1811 in 1818/1821. In 1871, Johannes Wutzlhofer , who later became a member of the state parliament and Bavarian Minister of Agriculture, was born in Obersunzing .
On January 1, 1972, the Obersunzing community, which belonged to the Straubing district , was integrated into the Leiblfing community as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
