history
Traces of settlement were found along the Aitrach valley as early as the Neolithic and the following cultural periods. As with other localities, it is not possible to clearly assign the earliest entries in Obersunzing and Niedersunzing. Sunzing is a real -ing place and means "with Sunzo and his people". Sunzing goes back to the time of the conquest by the Bavarians between 450 and 650 AD. The first mention of Sunzing can be found in a document that was written around 1118. Eberhard von Sunzingen bequeathed a farm there to the Oberalteich monastery .
On January 31, 1516, the widow of Heinz Puchlmaier zu Niedersunzing, together with Jorg Mülner and Hans Puchlmaier, the guardians of their children Michel, Christoph, Hans and André, declared in front of the chief judge Wolf Hofer zu Straubing that they would no longer have any claims to the purchase price Good to have sunzing. This is the first document in which Niedersunzing is explicitly mentioned. Around 1525, the Hofmarks owner of Geltolfing , Jobst von Perlach, also owned a number of goods in Niedersunzing.
Instead of Niedersunzing there is also the place name Untersunzing , as in the Salbuch of the Leiblfing parish. According to this Salbuch from 1562, several farms in Untersunzing were obliged to pay church costumes (taxes) to the Leiblfing parish. According to the court register of 1599, Niedersunzing belonged to the main team, after the conscription of 1752 with 19 properties and according to the investment book of 1785 to the Salching administration . Some houses were under the rule of the Court of Justice, Geltolfing, the other properties directly to the Straubing Regional Court. The Windberg monastery was the largest landowner in Niedersunzing.
With the secularization in Bavaria in 1803, the farms belonging to the monasteries passed to the state and from there to the farmers until 1848. With the formation of the community in 1821, Niedersunzig became part of the community of Obersunzing. On January 1, 1972, in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , Niedersunzing came to the community of Leiblfing with the dissolved community of Obersunzing.
