Proletarskyj (Ukrainian Пролетарський - Ukrainian officially since May 12, 2016 Kartuschyne / Картушине ; Russian Пролетарский / Proletarski ) is an urban-type settlement in the south of Ukraine Luhansk Oblast with about 1500 inhabitants.

Flag of the place

Administratively, the place belongs to the municipality of Rowenky, 11 kilometers southeast, and forms its own settlement council to which the village of Tschapajewka (Чапаєвка) and the settlement Novoukrajinka (Новоукраїнка) belong, the oblast capital of Luhansk is 47 kilometers north of the place runs the Otscheretyne – Swerewo railway line .

Proletarskyj was 1894 as Bahnhofsiedlung Kartuschino founded (Картушино) (the current name was given in the 1950s) and received in 1938 the status of an urban-type settlement. Since the summer of 2014, the place has been occupied by separatists from the Lugansk People's Republic during the war in Ukraine .
