Heorhijiwka (Ukrainian Георгіївка ; Russian Георгиевка / Georgijewka ) is an urban-type settlement in the south of the Ukrainian Luhansk Oblast with about 6400 inhabitants.
The place belongs administratively to the district Lutuhyne , the district center Lutuhyne is located 3 kilometers southwest, the oblast capital Luhansk is 14 kilometers north of the place.
The settlement council community of the same name also includes the village of Peremoshne (Переможне), in the place the river Sucha (Суха) unites with the Vilchivka (Вільхівка).
Heorhijiwka was founded in the 18th century, was called Konopljanka (Коноплянка) until 1917, and in 1938 it was given the status of an urban-type settlement. Since the summer of 2014, the town has been occupied by separatists from the Lugansk People's Republic during the war in Ukraine .
