Losiwskyj (Ukrainian Лозівський ; Russian Лозовский / Losowski ) is an urban-type settlement in the south of the Ukrainian Luhansk Oblast with about 5100 inhabitants.
The place belongs administratively to Rajon Slovianoserbsk that Rajonszentrum Slovianoserbsk is 17 kilometers north area, the Oblasthauptstadt Luhansk is located 31 kilometers east of the village.
The settlement council of the same name also includes the settlement of Kryworischschja (Криворіжжя), through which the Losowa river (Лозова) runs.
Losiwskyj was founded in 1949 as a workers' settlement for a coal mine under the name Wosma strojka (Восьма стройка; "Building 8") and received the status of an urban-type settlement in 1954, at the same time it was renamed to its current name. Since the summer of 2014, the town has been occupied by separatists from the Lugansk People's Republic during the war in Ukraine .
