Suchodilsk ( Ukrainian Суходільськ ; Russian Суходольск Suchodolsk ) is a small town in the Luhansk Oblast in eastern Ukraine with about 20,800 inhabitants (2016), which administratively belongs to the municipality of Krasnodon .
In 1914, due to the existing coal deposits and the construction of a train station, the village Verkhnye-Duwanne (Ukrainian Верхнє-Дуванне ), which in 1972 received the name Sukhodilsk and the status of a city.
geography
The city is located in the eastern Donets Basin, about 40 km southeast of the Luhansk Oblast center . The city of Krasnodon is 3 km south of Sukhodilsk and can be reached via the M 04 trunk road . Sukhodilsk has an extension of 3 km from north to south and 4.3 km from east to west.
