Bilokurakyne was founded in 1700 after Tsar Peter I transferred the undeveloped land of the Wild Field to his prince Boris Ivanovich Kurakin. In the winter of 1941-42 the village and the train station were bombed several times by Wehrmacht troops and occupied on July 9, 1942. On January 19, 1943, the Red Army recaptured the town from the occupation. Bilokurakyne has had urban-type settlement status since 1957.
