Malomykolaivka (Ukrainian Маломиколаївка ; Russian Малониколаевка / Malonikolajewka ) is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine with about 1700 inhabitants.
geography
The place is located in the southwest of the Luhansk Oblast on the Vilchivka River (Вільхівка), about 23 kilometers north of the Rajon capital Antrazyt and 35 kilometers southwest of the Oblast capital Luhansk . The N 21 road runs through the village .
In addition to Malomykolaivka, the settlements of Jelysawetiwka (Jлизаветівка) and Sachidne (Західне) belong to the settlement council of the same name .
history
The place was founded at the beginning of the 18th century, in 1964 it was finally designated an urban-type settlement, since 1991 it has been part of today's Ukraine.
Since the summer of 2014, the town has been occupied by separatists from the Lugansk People's Republic during the war in Ukraine .
