Shchastja ( Ukrainian Щастя ; Russian Счастье Stschastje ) is a city in the center of the Ukrainian Oblast Luhansk with about 12,600 inhabitants (2014).

Shchastja is located on the left bank of the Siversky Donets 24 km north of the Oblast capital Luhansk and 36 km southeast of the district center Novoajdar .

The village, founded in the middle of the 18th century, was administratively part of the town of Shovtneve of the city of Luhansk until October 2014 and since then has been part of the Novoajdar district after the urban area of ​​Luhansk south of the Siversky Donets was occupied by pro-Russian rebels in the course of the war in eastern Ukraine . The village has had its current name since 1956 and has had city status since 1963. Since mid-2014, the city has been on the frontline to the separatist areas of eastern Ukraine.
