history

The place was officially founded in 1897 as a settlement for the workers of the Nadezhda shaft (Надежда) and was named Vorozhylovsk (Ворошиловське). It was given urban-type settlement status in 1938 and was later renamed after the nearby Vrubivka (Врубівка) train station .
