Michèle Loetzner

Michèle Loetzner (* 1982 in Heidelberg ) is a German author and journalist .

Career

Loetzner grew up in Murnau am Staffelsee and graduated from the Staffelsee-Gymnasium Murnau in 2001 with a high school diploma. She then studied Modern German Literature , English Literature and Linguistics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the University of Helsinki . She graduated with a Magister Artium , her master's thesis was entitled Consequences of the Genre Change from Drama to Novel based on the Simone versions by Bertolt Brecht and Lion Feuchtwanger .

During her studies she worked as a freelance writer for Jetzt.de and Neon . This was followed by editorial positions at Condé Nast Digital and the women's magazine Jolie . Since 2013 she has been working as a freelance journalist for, among others, Die Zeit , Die Welt am Sonntag , SZ-Magazin and various women's magazines .

Her article Like a Vampire about a modern marriage swindler caused a stir on social media platforms.

Since January 2019 she has been working as freelance copywriter for Plan W, the business magazine for women of the Süddeutsche Zeitung .

Her book Overcome Lovesickness in 99 Days was published by DuMont in June 2020 .

Michèle Loetzner has two brothers and lives with her daughter in Munich .
