Michael Cromer

Peter Michael Cromer (actually: Kromer, born August 21, 1939 in Krefeld ; † September 4, 2007 in Munich ) was a German entrepreneur and founder of the MCM fashion brand .

Life

Cromer began studying economics in Tübingen and also worked as an actor and photo model . Together with his wife he founded the company " Michael Cromer München Reisegepäck GmbH". In the mid-1990s, his company, which had 240 branches around the world and reportedly had a turnover of around 480 million euros, got into economic difficulties and was later sold.

After reports of tax evasion, he fled to Switzerland twice . In 2000 he was sentenced to two years probation for tax evasion, after which he returned to Germany. In 2003 he suffered an abdominal artery rupture at the wheel of his car.

Michael Cromer was one of the most dazzling figures in the Munich crowd . In recent years he has made headlines in the rainbow press several times . He lived with his wife Mara, with whom he had been married since June 1966, most recently in a row house in Straßlach , a town south of Munich, where they lived on 600 euros a month. He died at the Klinikum rechts der Isar of multiple organ failure .
