Michael Dambacher

Michael Dambacher (born August 15, 1979 in Ellwangen ) is a German local politician ( CDU ). He has been Lord Mayor of Ellwangen since July 2019 . Before that, he was mayor of the Bühlertann community from 2010 to 2019 .

Life

Dambacher attended the Hariolf-Gymnasium in Ellwangen after primary school in Westhausen . From 1999 to 2004 he studied at the School of Public Administration and Finance Ludwigsburg studying the Diploma in Public Administration (FH) , graduating as valedictorian. He then worked in the city administration of Stuttgart , initially as a treasurer , later as a project manager and internal consultant. While working, he completed an MBA course at the Steinbeis University in Berlin .

Dambacher is a member of the CDU. Until November 2009 he was district chairman of the Junge Union in the Ostalb district . On January 24, 2010, he was elected mayor of the municipality of Bühlertann with 67.41 percent of the vote. In January 2018 he was confirmed in office with over 98 percent of the votes. In May 2019, Dambacher applied for the office of mayor of his native Ellwangen. In the first ballot on May 26, 2019, he received 49.44 percent of the vote and thus narrowly missed an absolute majority. The subsequent runoff election on June 16, 2019, Dambacher clearly won 65.65 percent of the vote against his competitor Matthias Renschler. He thus became the successor to the previous Lord Mayor of Ellwangen, Karl Hilsenbek . Dambacher is also a member of the Baden-Württemberg community assembly and the district assembly of the Schwäbisch Hall district .

Dambacher is married and has one daughter.
