Michael "Mike" De Angelis (born January 27, 1967 in Kamloops , British Columbia ) is a former Italian - Canadian ice hockey player who was active in the German Ice Hockey League for the Adler Mannheim and the Augsburg Panthers .

Career

The six-foot-tall defender began his career with the Penticton Knights in the Canadian Junior League, British Columbia Hockey League, and playing for the University of Minnesota Duluth in the National Collegiate Athletic Association , before joining the Kalamazoo Wings in the 1987/88 season the International Hockey League was on the ice.

1989 De Angelis moved to Italy, where he first for the HC Fiemme Cavalese , later for the HC Devils Milano in Serie A played. In the 1995/96 season he moved briefly to HC Lugano in the National League A , but soon returned to Milan and was active for HC Milano 24 . For the 1997/98 season Michael De Angelis signed a contract with the Nottingham Panthers from the British Ice Hockey Superleague , during the season he moved back to North America to play in the Minor League West Coast Hockey League . After a brief engagement with the Adler Mannheim in the DEL and the IC Gentofte from the Danish Superisligaen in the 1998/99 season , he played for other clubs in the WCHL. In 2001 De Angelis returned to Milan and ended his career with the Augsburg Panthers in the same season .

International

For the Italian national ice hockey team , Michael De Angelis regularly took part in world championships between 1991 and 2001 , and he also played the Olympic ice hockey tournaments in 1992 and 1994 . At the 1998 World Cup , he was tested positive for ephedrine and pseudoephedrine in the doping control and was banned for three months.
