Michael Kipkorir Kipyego

Michael Kipkorir Kipyego (born October 2, 1983 in Marakwet ) is a Kenyan long distance and obstacle runner .

In 2002 he became Junior World Champion over 3000 m obstacle. The following year he won gold with the Kenyan team as fourth in the individual ranking at the World Cross Country Championships in Avenches on the short distance and was eliminated from the 3000 m obstacle course at the World Athletics Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis in the preliminary run. In 2007 he won team gold again in sixth place at the Cross Country World Championships in Mombasa , and in 2008 he won silver over 3000 m obstacles at the African Athletics Championships in Addis Ababa .

In 2011 he was sixth in the Rotterdam marathon , eighth in the Lille half marathon and third in the Eindhoven marathon . In 2012 he won the Tokyo Marathon .
