Michael Ian Mancienne (born January 8, 1988 in Isleworth , London ) is an English football player of Seychellois descent. He is under contract with New England Revolution and can be used as a center-back and right-back.
Career
society
Mancienne's parents came to London from the Seychelles in 1985 , where he started playing football at Kingstonian FC at a young age . He joined the football division of Chelsea at the age of seven after being discovered by a scout . He made his debut for the reserve team of Chelsea FC while he was still in school. In January 2006, after reaching the age of 18, Mancienne signed a contract with Chelsea. In the last game of the 2005/06 season Mancienne was called to the squad and sat on the bench, but was not used. In the games for the Community Shield against Liverpool and in the first two games in the FA Cup against Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers , he was also on the bench, but was not used.
In October 2006, Mancienne was loaned to the Queens Park Rangers for two years . In August 2007 he signed a new contract with Chelsea. For the 2008/09 season he returned first to Chelsea, but was loaned to Wolverhampton Wanderers in October 2008 , where he stayed for the first half of the season. On February 25, 2009 he made his Champions League debut against Juventus Turin . For the 2009/10 season, Chelsea Mancienne borrowed for two years until June 30, 2011 back to Wolverhampton.
Mancienne signed a four-year contract with Hamburger SV for the 2011/12 season until June 30, 2015 and was given the number 3 on his shirt. The contacts of the HSV sports director at the time, Frank Arnesen, were also responsible for the transfer from Mancienne to HSV . He moved from Chelsea to HSV in May 2011 and previously looked after Mancienne in London. Mancienne made his competitive debut for HSV on July 30, 2011 in a 2-1 win in the first round match of the DFB Cup against VfB Oldenburg . On August 5, 2011 (1st matchday) he made his Bundesliga debut in the 3-1 defeat in the away game at Borussia Dortmund .
For the 2014/15 season Mancienne moved to the English second division Nottingham Forest .
National team
In the 2006/07 season, Mancienne was called up to the English U-19s after emphasizing that he would like to continue playing for England and not for the Seychelles like his grandfather .
For the friendly against Germany on 19 November 2008, he was national coach Fabio Capello for the first time for the senior team nominated.
In 2009 he reached the final of the U-21 European Football Championship with the English U-21 . Mancienne himself was substituted on for Nedum Onuoha at the beginning of the second half . In the final in Gothenburg , however, they lost 4-0 to Germany .
In 2011, Stuart Pearce also nominated Mancienne for the 2011 European Under-21 Football Championship . Mancienne was also the captain of this tournament. Mancienne played in two of three games in the group stage after England were eliminated. The game against Ukraine on June 15, 2011 was Mancienne's last appearance for the U-21s.
